GitDeltaDeploy: Version 3 – Package, Project and DLL Rename

Highlighting that GitDeltaDeploy is a Third Party Extension
As a Hedgehog (and now Sitecore) employee, I found that a number of support requests for this open-source extension were being sent to the corporate support teams at Hedgehog or Sitecore, instead of the public Git repo. I can understand why people would send support requests to Hedgehog given this is an extension of Sitecore TDS (a paid product), and from my own personal involvement with the Hedgehog and Sitecore companies.
However GitDeltaDeploy is a passion project of mine, which I work on in my own personal time. It is also open-source…not owned by Hedgehog or Sitecore… and therefore, not supported by the official TDS Support or Sitecore Support teams.

As a result, I have decided to rename the project, removing ‘Hedgehog’ from the name, and instead replacing it with ‘SaintSkeeta’ (my Github username).

To make this easier for developers to upgrade with all the new features I have created a new version of the old ‘Hedgehog.TDS.BuildExtensions.GitDeltaDeploy’ NuGet package that has nothing in it, but simply has a dependency on the newly released ‘SaintSkeeta.TDS.BuildExtensions.GitDeltaDeploy
This will just make it easier for developers to update their solutions.
After updating, the ‘Hedgehog.TDS.BuildExtensions.GitDeltaDeploy’ package can then be removed from your solutions, as it is essentially obsolete.

Please note that while I enjoy working on this project that it is an open-source project which I work on in my own free time. I will get to any support requests when I find the opportunity to in my personal time, however I cannot provide any commitment to addressing issues in any specific time-frame.
Such is the nature of open source!

However, as an open-source project, developers are free to download the source code and test or make changes as they wish. I even encourage developers to make pull requests in order to assist the project. You can even follow these steps to help debugging any issues with the extension.
Further unofficial support and discussion can be had in the #tds channel in the Sitecore Community Chat. There you might encounter other developers using the extension who can also assist.

Thank you for your continued use of Sitecore TDS and the GitDeltaDeploy extension. It’s great to see so many teams cut down their deployment times and ensuring their clients get more bang for their buck with better DevOps efficiency.
