Razl Dazl: The Sitecore Database Compare Tool

A while back I blogged about getting the latest data from production back into your local Sitecore instance.
In the post I showed how it was possible to do using Hedgehog Development‘s Team Development for Sitecore.

Now there’s another tool out there that allows you to do this, in a far cleaner way.
The geniuses at Hedgehog have released Razl, a Sitecore database compare tool, which allows you to port content back and forth between Sitecore installations.

By connecting to your websites you can clearly see the differences between your local Sitecore site and the one on production.
You can then pull or push changes across, using copy item transfers, or finely granular field transfers.

This has also been useful when we’ve had content editors entering data on our UAT environments. By connecting Razl to UAT and our production content entry instances, we can port our entered data across instead of having to re-enter it all again.

Check out the Razl website for a video of how easy it is to use.
If, like me, you’re Dazl’d by Razl, I’d recommend purchasing soon (before June 1st, 2013) to still get the introductory discount of $100 off.
